Boyd Family

Wesley & I had a great time with the Boyds on Saturday. They are the funniest and most fun family!

BEAUTIFUL girls!!
Happy Birthday to Miss Kate on Friday!

Sam & Lori are a beautiful couple and such a great example to us!

Funniest part of the whole session-here are the girls, all dolled up, throwing rocks on some poor dead guts. Evie was yelling, "Just throw the rock on it!!!" and Kate was being so careful to throw the rock in just the right place!

These next three are from towards the end of the session, and they crack me up!!
Here's what we were trying for.....
That progressed to this....
And this was us by the end! :) I told Lori her Christmas card should have the pretty one on one side and this on the other!

Okay, now for more seriousness....

Briggs is so handsome! He wasn't in a picture taking mood.....that is, until Lori pulled out our secret weapon "Go, Santa, Go!" song from The Wiggles (I think that was the name of the song...).
Then he was all smiles!
Kate picked these flowers and shells just for me.

Fun girls!!!

Sam & Lori, thanks again for letting me spend time with your beautiful family.
Happy Early Birthday Lori (& Kate!)! I hope you enjoy your slideshow!

Fall Fun

Wesley & I had a great time hanging out with Sam & Lori & the kids Saturday in Murfreesboro. We haven't really seen them much since we moved. I can't believe how BIG these kiddos are!!

More to come later.

Briggs wasn't really interested in picture taking. Finally, a train came by and saved us!!

Sweet girls-aren't they beautiful?!

Even Murray, the family dog, joined us (but just for a bit!).

New Look......

What do you think? Honest feedback (& help!) wanted! :)
I am exploring new options to change the look of the blog. I might even be doing a new look a few times this week. Check back often and tell me what you think!

Randomness.......

I hope everyone is having a great week.
We had such a relaxing and normal weekend-no traveling all over Tennessee! I am caught up on all of my session editing-whoo hoo!
I just had to share this photograph I got of a butterfly while we were at my parents' a couple of weekends ago. I was so excited when I saw several colorful butterflies on the flowers. Of course, by the time I got back out with my camera, they were gone. I was patient and they returned and let me take their picture! Here's is just one. I LOVE it!
I still have a few mini-session appointments available. PLEASE call 615.804.0925 or email denise@skeltonphotography.com ASAP to reserve your session. This is really a great, more economical way to get a photo session of your family for your holiday cards. Remember how hard it was last year pushing the self-timer button on your camera, running to hop in the picture, and doing it at least 20 more times?! :) Let me do the work for you!
Here are the highlights one more time:

*30 minute session, up to 5 people
*approximately 15 images will be available for online viewing
*one digital file with release to print holiday cards or prints
*location: on or near the Greenway (contact for details)
$100
*Please note, due to scheduling-these cannot be rescheduled if there is bad weather
(we'll just keep our fingers crossed and pray really hard!).

One of the labs I use is having a sale on 4x6s through the end of the year. If you have had a session this year and need 4x6 holiday gift prints, please contact me to get your order ready. 4x6s will be on sale for $2.00!!! for a limited time!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, I am in the process of selecting holiday cards. If you had a session this year and are interested in greeting cards, please call or email me (especially if you have color scheme preferences).
I have been looking at card designs as well as trying to get started on my Christmas shopping-it got cold this weekend and suddenly, I am in the Christmas spirit. Seriously.........I was ready to put up my Christmas tree this weekend! Thankfully, Saturday morning (before all of this started), I put a bit of fall decoration on my coffee table.....if not for that, I might have been singing "Deck the Halls!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I suppose that is enough randomness for now. Have an awesome week!
:)

Fall

It's The Great Pumpkin, Maggie Skelton!

For Dean's birthday/Denise really wanted to take Maggie to the pumpkin patch, the Skeltons all loaded up and drove to Riceville to the Guthrie Farms Pumpkin Patch.
Martha asked me the day before, "Why do you want to go to the pumpkin patch?" to which I replied, "Have you never BEEN to a pumpkin patch!?!?!"
Pumpkin patches are my all time favorite fall tradition! I get excited every year when fall rolls around just thinking about it!

We started off in the petting barn. Mind you, Maggie is going to be a farm girl, so cows are nothing new to her. She was so excited to see all of the animals-she saw the calves and yelled "HEY, COWS!" and waved. Priceless.

We continued around to the other animals including pigs, goats, a horse (to whom Maggie screamed "HEY, COW!"), a donkey (to whom Maggie said, "neigh, neigh"), a miniature horse, bunnies, baby ducks, and chicks.
She loved feeling of the bunnies.

We tried my first corn maze. It was interesting. If it had been darker I would have been scared. Here's a Skelton Family photo in the corn maze minus myself.

There were friendly signs that reminded us not to pick the corn, but this corn cob was on the ground. :)

After the corn maze, the guys (& Maggie) walked across the road to look at the bulls. Maggie threw some hay over the fence and said "EAT IT!" to the bulls.

I love this shot of Maggie & her Nana on the hayride to the pumpkin patch.
Pumpkin time! Maggie saw the pumpkins and said something about tomatoes. Then she got to the pumpkin and said, "Aaa-ple!"

The girls!

Maggie loved celebrating Papa's birthday at the pumpkin patch!
We (Jana, Maggie, & I) decided this should be an annual Skelton family tradition!
You can see all 48 of my favorites (ha!) on my Facebook album.

The Grandkids

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to visit with some of my cousins. Donna wanted to have some portraits made to use for her Christmas cards this year. Thankfully, it was much, much warmer than last year. It was good to get to see them all again and see how much these kiddos have grown!

Miss Elizabeth made her photo debut at our session! She is two months old. What a cutie!

Little Aiden is the most photogenic kid I have ever met!
This little series was just too cute not to share.

Aiden's mom and dad wanted some family portraits made too.
I LOVE this one.

Then it was time for all four grandkids together.
They did such an amazing job. It's an awful lot to ask for 4 kids this small to smile at the camera, but they did it!

Boys will be boys.
I LOVE it!

Sam has changed the most since our session last year. He is so big and has the prettiest eyes!

Lily is such a beautiful girl.

Donna, thanks so much for letting me come spend time with you all!
Enjoy your slideshow and your gallery of images.
